About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Livestock, Wildlife and Fisheries in the Gary Magadzire School of Agriculture. The department focuses on the importance of the livestock industry in the agriculture sector. The livestock industry comprising domestic animals, wildlife and fisheries is critical for national development. The country is endowed with a rich base of water bodies and national parks even in semi-arid areas. The department seeks to promote the production and sustainable utilisation of our animals as well as effectively improving respective production value chains.  The department offers Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Animal Science, and Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation. These programmes are meant to equip students with knowledge necessary for the development of the livestock industry in the country.
